About The Position

Misericordia Nursing & Rehabilitation Center has been providing compassionate care to older adults since 1943. A Dietary Aid will assist in the preparation, presentation, and distribution of freshly prepared meals from our professional kitchen. Misericordia’s Dietary department prides itself in bringing in the best candidates into our close-knit team. Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
A positive, upbeat attitude and the ability to cooperate with others in a fast-paced environment.
Strong and courteous customer service skills, to work within a diverse workforce while providing that service to our residents, family members, vendors, and coworkers.
Strong attention to detail.
Strong ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.

Nice To Haves

Prior cooking experience helpful, but not essential.
Prior experience in healthcare, food service or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist our Cooks in the preparation of food, as needed.
Coordinate with team members for meal service periods.
Follow our residents’ individualized meal plans by ensuring all items are present for meal service.
Follow standardized recipes and specialized recipes to adhere to all specialized diets.
Operate standard kitchen equipment safely, according to training and experience.
Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes.
Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, dishware, and appliances.
