About The Position

The Superintendent invites qualified and interested persons to apply for the position of Supervisor - Student Life. This role is responsible for directing the planning, development, organization, management, direction, and implementation of all aspects of student service programs of the District. The position ensures compliance with laws, codes, and regulations related to student services, evaluates assigned personnel, and performs related work. It also involves initiating and supporting liaison with community agencies and other resources to meet pupils' needs, meeting with parents to discuss program implementation and resolve grievances, and assisting in the preparation of reports for various agencies. The Supervisor guides staff, parents, and the community in interpreting District programs and compliance with regulations, participates in professional growth activities for staff, and assists in staff evaluations as directed by the Assistant Superintendent.

Requirements

  • An appropriate New Jersey Department of Education Standard Certificate as deemed necessary by https://www.nj.gov/education/certification/certsandtitles/
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of successful experience in school or district-level administration.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
  • As defined in N.J.A.C. 6A:9-9 Instructional certificates.

Responsibilities

  • Directs the planning, development, organization, management, direction, and implementation of all aspects of student service programs of the District.
  • Assures compliance with laws, codes, and regulations related to student services.
  • Evaluates assigned personnel.
  • Initiates, facilitates and supports liaison with community agencies and other resources to meet pupils' needs.
  • Meets with parents to discuss implementation of programs and to resolve grievances.
  • Assists in the preparation of reports requested by Central Office Administrators and local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Maintains accurate records and prepares reports.
  • Guides staff, parents, and community in the interpretation of District programs and compliance with Federal, State, and District rules and regulations.
  • Participates in activities that promote professional growth for staff.
  • Assist in the evaluation of instructional and non-instructional staff at the discretion of the Assistant Superintendent.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent.
