About The Position

The Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, custodial operations, and overall upkeep of school facilities. This role involves managing construction projects, ensuring compliance with various codes and regulations, and leading a team. The position requires a strong understanding of building systems, grounds care, and safety protocols.

Requirements

• Current Certified Educational Facilities Manager (CEFM) certificate.
• High school diploma.
• Valid Driver's License with evidence of a safe driving record.
• Experience managing construction projects.
• New Jersey Black Seal Low Pressure Fireman's license.
• Knowledge of commercial cleaning and equipment.
• Knowledge of landscaping and athletic fields.
• Knowledge of maintenance of HVAC and grounds care and maintenance.
• Knowledge of building codes, state and federal OSHA and environmental codes.
• Knowledge of Buildings and Grounds, Health and Safety, Fire, Construction, and Safety Codes.
• High level of knowledge of computer systems and technology.
• Experience in planning and development.
• Experience in safety.
• Experience in project management.
• Experience in inventory.
• Experience in budgeting.
• Experience in personnel management.

Nice To Haves

• College degree preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years' experience in school maintenance and custodial operations preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years' experience in a supervisory position, preferably in a school district or facility.
