About The Position

This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe environment by performing a wide variety of cleaning, upkeep and maintenance activities in County buildings and on grounds.

Requirements

• A combination of education, experience and training which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
• Possession of a valid South Dakota Driver’s License.
• Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances
• Familiarity with basic landscaping and handyman practices
• Ability to operate normal building maintenance equipment such as vacuum cleaners, carpet shampooers, brooms, mops, leaf blowers, lawn mowers, snow blowers, plows, etc.

Responsibilities

• Identify facilities, equipment or machines in need of repair.
• Understanding of and the ability to perform basic routine maintenance on various building systems to include heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical, etc.
• Cleaning offices, restrooms and other common areas
• Maintain outer premises by mowing, watering, sweeping and shoveling.
• Performs maintenance and minor repairs (replacing broken switches, fixing door handles, minor leaks, painting etc.)
• Performs other work as assigned.
