This position represents Corning Hospital and Nursing Administration in their absence. It involves a collaborative role in staffing and scheduling of personnel, considering appropriate utilization of personnel, scope of practice, competencies, patient needs, and complexity of care. The role seeks to support a professional practice environment that fosters excellence in nursing practice, empowering nurse decision-making, accountability, and autonomy. The Supervisor will respond to emergency codes/crisis intervention, address Employee Health incidents, and demonstrate knowledge of NYSDOH Codes and reporting requirements. Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare providers regarding patient care. The role also involves promoting service recovery, maintaining confidentiality, serving as a professional liaison with the community, functioning as a mentor for nursing staff development, and participating in professional continuing education programs, nursing committees, and performance improvement activities.
