This full-time Supervisor Nursing Operations role is responsible for ensuring administrative continuity for staff, patients, and families, acting as a liaison for the hospital executive director on call and the patient care services management team. The position requires awareness and response to activities within the entire hospital during assigned work hours, collaboration with Nursing Management and the Nursing Staffing Office for primary leadership in staff placement, and analysis of resource utilization trends. The role also involves providing consultation for patient placement, coordinating daily debriefings, initiating escalation of capacity management plans, and collaborating with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff to resolve clinical and operational issues. The supervisor will team with Hospitalists in a co-management model to facilitate communication and throughput, serve as a resource for policies, standards, and performance issues, provide disciplinary counsel, and act as a resource for patient care quality, compliance, and regulatory standards. Additionally, the role serves as an on-site liaison for the Hospital Administrator on-call, provides information to the Office of Communications Marketing and Media, communicates effectively and professionally, and acts as an on-site liaison for Service Excellence issues. The supervisor ensures a biogenic environment that stimulates staff professional development, develops relationships to enhance care delivery and satisfaction, and ensures hospital disaster plans and policies are followed, coordinating activities as needed. This position represents the Chief Nursing Officer/Directors of Nursing with on-site operational and clinical leadership after normal business hours.
