This position provides work direction to staff, coordinating resources for efficient support of procedures, day-to-day operations, and patient flow through the department. The role promotes an environment conducive to quality patient care, advocates for patient and staff rights, and fosters communication among patients, families, hospital departments, and medical staff. The Supervisor acts as a liaison between medical and nursing staff, serving as a problem solver and mediator. They develop and maintain effective relationships, evaluate patient care quality, ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and collaborate on process improvement. This role also serves as a clinical resource, develops orientation and continuing education programs, and provides input on equipment and budget needs. Additionally, the Supervisor supports Shared Leadership functions, performs human resources responsibilities including coaching and performance reviews, and ensures adherence to the organization's Code of Ethical Conduct. The position requires the ability to provide age-appropriate care based on knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan.
