About The Position

The MiFamily Together Program Supervisor is responsible for providing supervision, support, and oversight to staff delivering MiFamily Together services to children and families involved in prevention, family preservation, reunification, and placement stabilization services. This position supports implementation of family-centered, strengths-based, and evidence-informed services designed to improve family functioning, reduce risk, and prevent unnecessary child welfare involvement. The MiFamily Together Program Supervisor provides clinical and administrative oversight to direct service staff, supports onboarding and training activities, monitors service quality, and ensures services are delivered in accordance with MDHHS requirements, MiFamily Together expectations, and agency policy. This role supports implementation of the 2Gen framework and assists in maintaining fidelity to evidence-based and structured service models.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a human services field or education required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of child welfare systems, family preservation and prevention services, and in-home, family-centered service delivery
  • Experience overseeing direct service staff, monitoring service delivery, and supporting compliance with program and contract requirements required
  • Experience working with children and families involved in child welfare, prevention, reunification, or placement stabilization services required
  • Experience supporting staff delivering in-home services and coordinating with MDHHS and community partners required
  • Demonstrated ability to support implementation of structured and evidence-based practices through supervision, case consultation, and review of documentation
  • Strong supervisory, organizational, leadership, and communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license, maintain a satisfactory driving record, and provide proof of automobile insurance
  • Must not have been convicted of child abuse or neglect, or a felony involving harm or threatened harm to an individual within the 10 years immediately preceding the date of hire
  • Must not be listed on the central registry as a perpetrator of child abuse or child neglect

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of one year of supervisory experience in a human services, child welfare, or family services setting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision, support, and oversight to MiFamily Together Advocates, Parent Partners, and other assigned staff
  • Conduct regular supervision, coaching, and performance evaluation of assigned staff
  • Conduct weekly individual supervision with assigned staff to review case progress, documentation, assessment tools, case planning, and service delivery strategies
  • Support staff in engagement strategies, case planning, documentation, problem-solving, and service coordination
  • Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, and strengths-based practice
  • Promote team cohesion, positive staff morale, staff engagement, and retention efforts
  • Assist with onboarding, orientation, and ongoing training of program staff
  • Facilitate team meetings, case consultation, and collaborative staffing discussions to support service planning, problem-solving, and coordinated care
  • Complete annual performance evaluations and ongoing performance feedback for assigned staff
  • Monitor day-to-day service delivery to ensure services are provided in accordance with MiFamily Together requirements and agency expectations
  • Coordinate acceptance and assignment of program referrals
  • Oversee program operations related to family enrollment, participation, and continuity of services
  • Support continuity and consistency of service delivery during staffing transitions or program changes
  • Ensure staff compliance with MDHHS requirements, contractual obligations, agency policy, and program standards
  • Monitor completion and quality of required documentation, including service notes, assessments, reports, and prevention plans
  • Review and approve prevention plans and related documentation in accordance with program requirements and agency policy
  • Conduct case record reviews and documentation audits to ensure compliance, quality, and timeliness
  • Observe staff interactions with families and utilize fidelity and coaching tools to support skill development, motivational interviewing practices, and service quality improvement
  • Support staff in meeting training, credentialing, and fidelity expectations
  • Assist with quality assurance activities, audits, monitoring reviews, and corrective action planning as directed
