About The Position

The Cutting Room Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Manager with directing the day-to-day operations of the Cutting Room to ensure the timely, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing of custom and production garments. This position oversees production personnel, quality, workflow, staffing, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives while fostering a positive, collaborative work environment. The Cutting Room Supervisor partners with Quality, Maintenance, Human Resources, and other production departments to meet customer expectations and achieve company performance objectives.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in textile or garment manufacturing preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish or English and Portuguese preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, including 6S, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coach, motivate, and develop employees to achieve performance goals related to safety, quality, productivity, teamwork, and job knowledge.
  • Monitor workflow and allocate resources to maximize productivity and meet customer delivery requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Quality department to identify, resolve, and prevent quality issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by reducing downtime, improving efficiency, and utilizing Lean manufacturing principles and approved coaching methods.
  • Identify staffing needs and communicate hiring requirements to management.
  • Coordinate employee training to ensure team members are properly trained in job duties, safety procedures, company policies, and cross-training initiatives.
  • Partner with the Maintenance department to ensure equipment is properly maintained and repaired to minimize production interruptions.
  • Promote a safe working environment by reporting, documenting, and addressing safety concerns and incidents.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and communicate operational updates to employees and leadership.
  • Participate in interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new employees.
  • Administer employee coaching and corrective action in partnership with the Human Resources department.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.

Benefits

  • The starting salary for this position is $60,000-$65,000 and may increase to $70,000 depending on merit, length of service with the Company, and other factors.
  • We take into consideration an individual’s skills, background, and experience in determining final salary.
  • Base pay information is based on market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
