About The Position

The Maintenance Supervisor / Lead Engineer oversees the hotel’s daily maintenance operations and ensures building systems, guest areas, and back-of-house spaces meet Coury Hospitality’s quality and safety standards. The role leads the engineering team in proactive maintenance, timely repairs, and preventative maintenance programs that support guest experiences and operational excellence. The supervisor assigns and prioritizes work, schedules and supports staff, oversees repairs and vendors, and helps maintain safe and efficient building operations. The position also includes inspections, recordkeeping, procurement, budget support, and compliance with applicable safety regulations and building codes. Additional tasks may be assigned or revised according to business volume and operational needs.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Seven years of maintenance or engineering experience.
Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and building maintenance practices.
Hands-on ability to diagnose, repair, and prevent failures in hotel mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and maintenance documentation.
Budget management and cost control skills.
Strong organizational, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Flexibility to work during day, evening, or overnight hours when special circumstances arise.
Ability to lift and carry equipment or materials up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

Technical or trade certification.
Maintenance or engineering experience in hospitality or commercial facilities.
Previous supervisory or lead experience.
HVAC certification.

Responsibilities

Supervise daily operations of the maintenance and engineering department.
Assign work orders and prioritize tasks according to operational needs and urgency.
Lead, train, and support maintenance technicians to promote consistent performance and safety.
Schedule department staff.
Respond promptly to maintenance issues to minimize operational disruption.
Perform and oversee repairs involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
Coordinate and oversee vendors conducting repairs or service.
Ensure building equipment and systems function safely and efficiently.
Monitor building management and emergency systems for alarms, alerts, and irregularities.
Maintain guest rooms, public spaces, meeting rooms, and exterior areas to Coury Hospitality standards.
Coordinate and execute preventative maintenance programs for building systems and equipment.
Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs before they affect operations or guest satisfaction.
Maintain accurate logs and maintenance records for equipment and property assets.
Procure departmental supplies and repair parts.
Work with senior department staff to control the department’s operating budget.
Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, fire safety regulations, and local building codes.
