About The Position

Carpenter Technology Corporation is a leading producer and distributor of premium specialty alloys, including titanium alloys, nickel and cobalt based superalloys, stainless steels, alloy steels and tool steels. Their high-performance materials and advanced process solutions are integral to critical applications in aerospace, transportation, medical, and energy markets. The Tanner, AL location is an integrated mill manufacturing high quality premium and ultra-premium forged bar and billet products from melt to ship. The Supervisor Maintenance role involves providing guidance, direction, and supervision to Maintenance employees, ensuring departmental operations, promoting safety, executing planned and scheduled maintenance, fostering a positive work environment, and collaborating to achieve company goals. Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • Minimum two years supervisory experience in a manufacturing/maintenance environment.
  • Practical understanding of industrial/maintenance principles, standards, methods and practices.
  • Knowledge of disciplined problem-solving methods, and of positive employee relations practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability; sets high expectations for performance.
  • Innovative problem-solving skills, including motivation to discover "Win-Win" outcomes whenever possible.
  • Good business judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Direct, candid and mature interpersonal skills.
  • Trustworthy and able to influence others.
  • Willingness to offer a dissenting opinion before final decisions are reached.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Maintenance employees with guidance, direction and supervision in support of departmental operations.
  • Promptly address performance issues.
  • Actively promote all company policies and expectations, especially in support of safety plans and results.
  • Execute planned and scheduled maintenance operations within assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Maintain a positive work environment by regularly communicating with employees on the shop floor and responding to employee issues and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Maintain well-organized and productive work areas.
  • Work with others to achieve department and company goals and objectives.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
