About The Position

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and ensuring the completion of all Scheduled and Line Maintenance activities. This role also involves supervising, coordinating, and performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities during their respective shifts. The position oversees the management of all areas of either Line or Heavy maintenance to produce and direct activities for the maintenance of all Company owned/leased operated aircraft, support equipment, and facilities. They supervise the implementation of long- and short-range planning for maintenance planning, programs, objectives, and policies, and implement procedures for maintaining high standards of aircraft maintenance operations to ensure aircraft conform to all FAA, CommuteAir Maintenance Program, and manufacturers’ quality standards. The supervisor manages to headcount requirements as determined by the Maintenance Manager and assists in managing the maintenance operations annual budget for their location. They identify, develop, recommend, and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce cost, rework, and scrap. The role supervises and monitors maintenance at their location to ensure goals of the Maintenance Operations organization annual plan are on target and acts as a liaison for their location between internal and external department leaders to ensure proper communications of decisions. Additionally, they train, develop, and evaluate employees, take corrective actions as necessary, and ensure compliance with all current federal, state, local, and Company labor requirements. The supervisor coordinates the implementation of facility projects and programs essential to operational sustainability and consistency, such as safety, cost reduction, security, 5S, and training employee involvement. They actively survey the progress of work using a Self Audit Form, which should be utilized daily and sent weekly to the Base Manager and Quality Assurance/CASS for evaluation. Requirements

  • Must hold a current Airframe and Powerplant certificate and required Company authorizations.
  • Demonstrate leadership abilities and technical knowledge required to perform the duties of this position.
  • Know the appropriate Maintenance Policies and Procedures.
  • Must have one year experience as a Certificated Mechanic or Repairman.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude toward productivity, safety and quality of maintenance.
  • Hold a valid state issued driver's license and government issued passport.
  • Organized with the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities regularly.
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Legally authorized to work in the USA.
  • Must have own set of tools.

  • Managing to headcount requirements as determined by Line or Heavy Maintenance Manager.
  • Assisting Line or Heavy Maintenance Manager in the management of maintenance operations annual budget for his/her location.
  • Identifying, developing, recommending, and implementing changes to improve productivity and reduce cost, rework, and scrap at his/her location.
  • Supervising and monitoring either Line or Heavy maintenance at his/her location to ensure goals of the Maintenance Operations organization annual plan are on target.
  • Acting as a liaison for his/her location between internal and external department leaders to ensure proper communications of decisions.
  • Training, developing, and evaluating employees at his/her location.
  • Taking corrective actions as necessary in a timely manner within Company policy to address any deficiencies in performance.
  • Ensuring compliance with all current federal, state, local, and Company labor requirements.
  • Coordinating the implementation of facility projects (e.g., Hangar/Shop layouts, installation of capital equipment, major repairs, etc.).
  • Coordinating the implementation of programs essential to operational sustainability and consistency for his/her location (e.g., safety, cost reduction, security, 5S, training employee involvement, etc.).
  • Actively surveying the progress of the work using Self Audit Form CA-118 SUP Self-Audit.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
