About The Position

The New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) is seeking an experienced leader to supervise the Maintenance Unit within its Uniformed Services Bureau. The role is responsible for maintenance and upkeep of all TLC facilities, including the TLC Inspection Facility, and works under the general supervision of the Chief of Facility Services. Facility Services manages and maintains TLC facilities and related operational support services.

Requirements

Four years of recent, full-time satisfactory experience as a construction laborer or in construction, maintenance, or repair of sewers, streets, highways, or water supply systems, including one year in a supervisory capacity; or a satisfactory equivalent.

Responsibilities

Inspect facilities daily to identify problems and necessary maintenance at all locations.
Prepare weekly maintenance plans, review schedules, and allocate work to staff.
Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems and equipment, including day-to-day supervision and training of maintenance staff.
Inspect and maintain building systems and HVAC to ensure proper operation.
Monitor inventory of materials, tools, and equipment.
Oversee work performed by outside vendors to ensure compliance with the service contract or scope of work.
Oversee and enforce good record-keeping practices.
Prepare clear and concise reports on facilities-related issues.
Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures.
Review, resolve, and update facility-related Track-It Requests.
Monitor and maintain light equipment assigned to the facility, including snow blowers and landscaping equipment.
Prepare for inclement weather and storms; supervise and perform snow and ice removal, including salting and de-icing, to ensure the facility is safe and ready to open.
Supervise and perform brush cutting and other grounds-care work.
Supervise and perform routine maintenance and minor repairs.
