About The Position

Alisal, a luxury 10,500 private acre working Ranch and Resort in the heart of Santa Barbara Wine Country is seeking an experienced and service-oriented Supervisor to join our Laundry Team. This full-time position is responsible for Supervising Alisal’s laundry program and its employees to ensure all laundry is cleaned and well maintained to the highest standards possible, laundry area is kept clean and equipment is operating efficiently. The Supervisor will oversee and help personnel with inspecting equipment, sorting, washing, drying and ironing laundry. Filling linen needs for guestrooms, food & beverage, and employee housing; setting formulas and cycles for all types of linen and types of soils as needed; preventive-maintenance program of equipment; ensuring staff keeps laundry area and equipment clean and neat; maintaining accurate linen and terry inventories; submitting reports and recommendations monthly or as requested/necessary; ordering supplies as required; assisting in developing methods for laundry efficiency; overseeing and enforcing laundry safety program. Monitoring proper chemical usage and enforcing compliance with all department/company protocols. The Supervisor, Laundry will also complete any other duties as required and assigned and fulfill administrative office and clerical work to promote the successful operation of the department.

Requirements

  • Must be able to present proof of identity and legal right to work in the United States post offer, pre-employment.
  • Conditional offer subject to criminal background check.
  • Open availability to accommodate varied schedules as well as being able to work on weekends and holidays.
  • Prior supervisory experience in Laundry facility, hotel/resort a plus.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) highly desired to effectively communicate with staff that only speaks Spanish.
  • Working knowledge and familiarity with CA labor laws.
  • Some computer knowledge desired.
  • Desire to establish outstanding, authentic, and memorable interactions with internal and external guests.
  • Integrity, dependability, and adaptability.
  • Skilled at multi-tasking, heightened attention to detail, speed, accuracy, and organization.
  • Commitment to confidentiality.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull minimum 50 lbs.

  • Ability to work indoors, occasionally outdoors and in varying temperatures.
