About The Position
The Laundry Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the laundry department. This includes maintaining a high morale for the laundry staff, teach laundry staff how to operate machinery, coach or counsel employees effectively, consistently achieve standards for the department and promote hotel service standards and policies.
Requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other employees.
- Previous hotel laundry or housekeeping experience.
- Speak and write English fluently.
- Minimal writing required.
- No employee will pose a direct threat to the health/safety of self or others.
Nice To Haves
- Prefer previous supervisory experience.
Responsibilities
- Maintain work area neat and organized.
- Know and perform all stages of linen processing (i.e., sorting and weighing soiled linen; sort clean linen; run clean laundry through proper machinery).
- Process all types of linen including loading and unloading machines.
- Report all unsafe conditions immediately.
- Clean the laundry machinery, filters and vents.
- Report any mechanical problems to engineering.
- Supervise laundry staff.
- Assist in monthly meetings.
- Attend all mandatory meetings.
- Perform the duties of the Laundry Manager.
- Complete other duties assigned by supervisor to include cross training.
- Help with changing the schedule as needed.
- Help in table linen and rooms linen inventories.
