About The Position

The Supervisor, Janitorial Services plays a critical role in maintaining operational excellence across manufacturing and administrative environments by leading comprehensive sanitation programs that meet the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. In this hands-on leadership position, you'll oversee janitorial staff performance, ensure compliance with health and safety protocols, and serve as the primary liaison between JLL, union subcontractor management, and client stakeholders. Your work directly impacts production continuity, workplace safety, and employee satisfaction while contributing to JLL's commitment to delivering exceptional facility management services. Requirements

Previous management or supervisory experience in janitorial, facilities, or manufacturing operations
High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience
Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with competing priorities
Experience working in a unionized environment and navigating collective bargaining agreement (CBA) requirements, contract compliance, and labor relations matters
Strong organizational, management, and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and hold staff accountable to performance standards
Knowledge of OSHA, state, and local regulatory compliance, HAZMAT protocols, and environmental health and safety requirements
Availability to work overtime as needed and adapt to varying shift schedules to meet operational demands

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with ISO compliance standards and environmental compliance initiatives in manufacturing settings
Experience using facility management software systems such as Corrigo or similar auditing and work order platforms
Basic understanding of preventive maintenance procedures for janitorial equipment including scrubbers, sweepers, and floor care machinery
Knowledge of commodity resource management and cleaning material inventory control practices
Strong presentation skills with experience facilitating training programs and safety briefings for diverse workforces
Experience collaborating with Manufacturing Engineering, Facilities, Safety, Human Resources, and Operations teams on process improvements
Track record of achieving measurable objectives including KPI compliance, customer satisfaction improvements, and zero safety incidents

Responsibilities

Review previous shift End of Shift (EOS) reports, identify carryover items, and develop action plans to address outstanding issues before conducting beginning-of-shift briefings with your team.
Assign personnel to designated routes and equipment, conduct safety briefings, and submit shift reports to Plant Management while ensuring all staff complete pre- and post-operation equipment checks.
Actively manage floor operations throughout the shift by flexing employees to address hot spots or absences, deploying emergency response cleanup teams via radio, and conducting route audits using Corrigo to assess cleaning and sanitizing procedures.
Serve as primary liaison between JLL, union subcontractor management, Manufacturing Engineers, and client stakeholders to ensure alignment on performance standards, safety protocols, contract compliance, and operational expectations.
Train and develop cleaning staff on proper chemical usage, PPE requirements, equipment operation, preventive maintenance, Lock-Out safety processes, and general housekeeping programs via Task Instruction Sheets (TIS).
Monitor and report safety incidents and hazards, spot-check employee PPE compliance, enforce health and safety policies, and maintain zero recordable injuries through proactive safety management.
Track supplies usage for ordering, oversee recycling program compliance, develop compression or shutdown work plans, and facilitate regular communication between supervisors, area leadership, and cross-functional teams.
