About The Position

As a Facilities Maintenance Shift Manager at JLL, you will lead shift-based maintenance operations for a client site or portfolio, helping ensure buildings, infrastructure, and critical systems remain safe, reliable, efficient, and ready to support day-to-day business needs. This role is responsible for overseeing reactive and preventive maintenance activity, coordinating response to urgent and emergency issues, guiding technicians and vendors, and maintaining strong service performance across work order completion, SLA delivery, customer experience, and operational reporting. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; technical training, trade certification, or equivalent practical experience in facilities maintenance or building operations.
5+ years of experience in facilities management, maintenance operations, engineering operations, or a similar environment, including experience leading shift-based teams.
Working knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general building maintenance practices.
Experience managing preventive maintenance programs, reactive repair workflows, and work order prioritization in a fast-paced operational setting.
Demonstrated ability to lead through urgent situations, make sound operational decisions, and coordinate effective incident response.
Understanding of workplace safety requirements, permit practices, and compliance expectations related to facilities operations.
Strong communication and team leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively across technicians, vendors, clients, and site leadership.
Comfort using maintenance, work order, or facilities systems to track performance, document work, and support reporting.
Availability to work assigned shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, or holidays as required by the site.

Nice To Haves

Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, facilities management, business, or a related field.
Experience supporting critical environments, manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, data center, or other operations where uptime and service continuity are essential.
Trade license or certification in a relevant discipline such as HVAC, electrical, or mechanical maintenance.
Experience with CMMS, BMS, or other facilities technology platforms used for maintenance tracking and operational monitoring.
Familiarity with KPI-driven service delivery, including budget awareness, invoice cycle support, and performance reporting.
Proven ability to develop team capability, coach frontline talent, and strengthen shift performance over time.
Experience working in a client-facing environment with a strong service mindset and a focus on building trusted relationships.

Responsibilities

Lead shift operations for facilities maintenance activities, including oversight of planned, reactive, and emergency work across building systems and site services.
Supervise maintenance technicians, contractors, and service partners to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and in line with service standards.
Monitor and prioritize work orders, repair backlogs, and preventive maintenance schedules to support reliable building performance and minimize downtime.
Coordinate response to equipment and facility issues involving HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire and life safety, general repairs, and related site infrastructure.
Review shift performance through key operational measures such as SLA completion, scheduled work order delivery, customer satisfaction, and overall service quality.
Partner closely with site leadership, clients, and cross-functional teams to communicate priorities, resolve issues quickly, and maintain continuity across shifts.
Support vendor management activities, including work quality oversight, service follow-up, and adherence to scope, safety, and compliance expectations.
Maintain accurate records, logs, and reporting for maintenance activity, incidents, inspections, and shift handovers.
