About The Position

Build your career as a Supervisor, Insurance Billing. In this role, you will continuously review workflows to identify opportunities to streamline and automate processes for maximum efficiency and effectiveness, recommending improvements to the manager as needed.

Requirements

  • One to two years of college or three years of healthcare business office experience.
  • Two years of healthcare billing and/or collections experience.
  • Strong understanding of billing and reimbursement processes.
  • Familiar with medical terminology, ICD‑10, CPT, and HCPCS.
  • Knowledge of CMS‑1500, UB‑04, 837 claims, and 835 remittances.
  • Able to communicate clearly with customers, providers, and peers.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the timely, accurate, and compliant submission of all medical claims, including secondary billing and rebilling.
  • Supervising daily electronic billing processes, including pre‑bill edits and claim rejections.
  • Directing billing activities in alignment with Presbyterian PFS policies, CMS rules and regulations, and all applicable third‑party payer requirements.
  • Assisting in monitoring unbilled accounts and supporting the development of strategies to improve clean claim rates and reduce gross days outstanding.
  • Overseeing the day‑to‑day work of the Insurance Billing team to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant billing in alignment with CMS guidelines.
  • Reviewing billing reports, developing improved methods and processes, and coordinating resources to enhance billing and collection efficiency.
  • Analyzing patterns in resubmitted or adjusted claims and addressing inconsistencies requiring updates to billing guidelines or system modifications.
  • Regularly assessing the effectiveness of billing policies, workflows, and automation, recommending changes to improve cost‑benefit outcomes and maximize collections.
  • Monitoring system‑generated reports and quality audits to ensure all accounts meet established performance standards.
  • Assisting the manager with random audits of problematic accounts and ensuring timely acknowledgment and resolution of issues.
  • Overseeing hiring, coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions; maintaining schedules to ensure adequate staffing for daily goals.
  • Leading the team in delivering exceptional service that strengthens patient and payer relationships.
  • Other duties as assigned.
