About The Position

In this hands-on warehouse leadership role, you will be accountable for delivering consistent, high-performance execution within a medical device distribution environment. The role requires regular on-floor presence and direct involvement in daily operations to ensure safety, quality, delivery, cost, inventory accuracy, and service commitments are met with a focus on team development and coaching. The position leads a high-impact team and is accountable for performance through people leadership, execution discipline, and strong cross-functional alignment. Success in this role depends on the ability to build trusted working relationships with Planning, Quality, Plant Operations, and Sales leadership, proactively manage operational and inventory risk, and ensure execution meets customer and business requirements. This role is classified due to the scope of ownership, decision-making responsibilities, and performance expectations, while requiring direct involvement in daily operations.

Requirements

  • Strong technical knowledge of logistics and supply chain management, including operational and inventory management judgement, shipping and receiving, and quality control.
  • Proven ability to lead small teams through presence and influence.
  • Comfort operating hands-on on the floor while thinking at a senior level.
  • Strong cross-functional communication and relationship building skills.
  • Working knowledge of ERP/WPS systems (preferably SAP), inventory control, and cycle counting.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a regulated, high-accountability environment.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing logistics equipment and systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years of progressive warehouse or operations leadership experience, including inventory control ownership OR High School Diploma/GED with 8+ years of progressive warehouse leadership experience, including senior-level accountability in a hands-on role

Responsibilities

  • Review upcoming shipments aligned with customer requirements for orders not yet finalized or built and collaborate with Manufacturing and Planning to ensure product availability for timely shipment.
  • Own end-to-end warehouse execution, including receiving, storage, picking, shipping, material handling, goods movement, transportation, and inventory control, with a strong hands-on presence on the floor.
  • Lead and develop a small team of warehouse leads and associates, setting clear expectations, reinforcing accountability, and coaching for consistent performance.
  • Drive performance against warehouse KPI’s including inventory accuracy, cycle count performance, service level, backorders, safety, and compliance.
  • Actively work alongside the team as needed to remove barriers, resolve issues, and ensure critical priorities are met—especially during volume spikes, constraints, or high-risk execution windows.
  • Build and sustain strong cross-functional partnerships with: Quality to ensure compliance, audit readiness, and timely resolution of inventory or material issues, Plant Operations to align material availability, inventory accuracy, and execution timing, Sales and Commercial leadership to support service commitments, escalations, and customer expectations.
  • Own inventory accuracy and integrity, including establishing and maintaining cycle count programs, investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies, driving root cause and corrective actions to prevent recurrence, ensuring system and physical inventory alignment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve ERP/WMS material transaction issues, ensuring accurate and timely inventory movements across systems.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure that all materials are accurately accounted for.
  • Collaborate with purchasing teams to ensure that all materials are properly ordered and received.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, including oversight of domestic and international receipts, shipments, and import/export documentation as required.
  • Oversee the shipping and receiving medical equipment to ensure that all products are properly packaged and labeled.
  • Manage the shipping and receiving team to ensure that all logistics activities are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Accountable for maintaining compliance with federal medical device regulations and enforcing Good Warehousing Practices (GWP) to support quality and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of logistics activities, including documentation of equipment performance and any issues encountered.
  • Prepare and submit reports on logistics activities, including any deviations or non-conformities.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure that all documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Lead performance feedback and development processes, supporting talent growth, engagement, and retention.
  • Provide training and support for logistics team members on the proper use and maintenance of medical equipment.
  • Ensure training, certification, and compliance readiness for all team members, with direct involvement in verifying effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and implement training programs for logistics personnel.
  • Stay current with industry trends, advancements in medical technology, and best practices in logistics and supply chain management.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for warehouse execution, inventory, and system issues, providing clear communication and data-driven recommendations to leadership.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure alignment on logistics activities and timelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Operations, to support logistics-related projects and initiatives.
  • Prepare and present reports on logistics activities and performance metrics to management.
  • Sustain a clean, safe, and audit-ready work environment, reinforcing GPS, 6S, standard work, and inventory discipline through direct observation and follow-up.
  • Proactively contributes to zero harm in the workplace for all employees by complying with legal and corporate (EHS) Environmental Health & Safety requirements, safe work practices, and EHS policies and procedures consistently.
  • Report all hazards, near misses and incidents as soon as practicable and participate in identifying actions to prevent harm from occurring to our people and/or our environment.
