About The Position

Responsible for supervising McLaren Bay Region staff in performing patient related clinical activities in area of jurisdiction for assigned shift. Responsible for ensuring patient placement is timely and appropriate, based on patient need and available resources. Uses independent judgement to exercise authority on behalf of the Medical Center, including disciplining subordinates, assigning work, resolving employee complaints, and conducting performance appraisals. Coordinates patient placement with input from Admitting, Managers, and Physicians. Assesses, prioritizes, and allocates resources to meet patient needs based on standards of care and staffing matrixes. Responsible for timely, concise, and professional communication, assisting managers/directors in relaying information and reinforcing policies, and providing feedback to Patient Care Services Administration. Evaluates the performance of orientees and assists with patient crisis situations and in-house codes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, or Associate’s Degree in Nursing with three (3) years of nursing experience
  • Valid Michigan Registered Nurse License
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or Red Cross
  • Two Years clinical experience

  • Evaluates the performance of orientees on assigned shifts.
  • Responsible for assisting with patient crisis situations including various in-house codes.
