About The Position

The supervisor will assist in training and troubleshooting for the various testing platforms in the Hematology and Flow Cytometry area. Platforms include Beckman Coulter DxH 800, IL ACL TOP 500, BD FACS Canto Flow Cytometer, Special Coagulation and manual benches. The position will be both a supervisory role as well as technical resource for the department manager. Assures that existing and new laboratory procedures are approved, performed correctly and reported properly. Reviews quality control and assist manager with instrument validation studies. Affects improvements, insures quality of apparatus, equipment and materials. Maintains efficient record systems and performs related duties in the best interests of laboratory services to patients. Supervises staff and holds them accountable for yielding reliable patient laboratory results. Responsible for ensuring staff completes inventory evaluations in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Medical Technology, Biological Sciences or Chemistry Required
  • 3 years experience in Hematology Required
  • General Experience and knowledge of licensing, accreditation and regulatory requirements Required
  • General Experience utilizing quality control procedures and practices in a hospital laboratory environment Required
