The Freight Operations Supervisor at XPO will lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations. This role involves developing and implementing strategic work procedures, evaluating and managing workloads, and supervising hourly staff. The supervisor will ensure production goals are met by managing tonnage, payroll, and other administrative functions, and will plan employee schedules to meet daily operational goals and reduce costs. They will enforce all company policies, rules, regulations, and laws, including FMCSR, OSHA, CCMTA, NSC, and DOT regulations. The supervisor is responsible for ensuring customer freight is processed, handled, loaded, and delivered in a timely and damage-free manner. They will also coach and develop employees, conduct new hire evaluations, and determine corrective actions for policy violations. This role requires directing a team to meet or exceed productivity goals, making recommendations regarding hiring, suspension, and termination, and developing action plans to improve load average and model compliance. The supervisor will participate in internal safety and engagement committees, train employees on safety rules and processes, and monitor and maintain organization within the shift to ensure safety and productivity. Daily staff meetings will be conducted to communicate corporate messages and policy revisions. Additionally, the supervisor will inspect working conditions of tools and equipment, provide suggestions for operational improvements, act as a champion of XPO values, and minimize shipment rehandle by prioritizing direct loading, headloads, and sector loading while maintaining quality standards.
