This role involves leading and supervising all aspects of freight operations, developing and implementing strategic work procedures, and evaluating, managing, and assigning workloads. The supervisor will oversee hourly staff, ensure production goals are met, and manage administrative functions. They will also be responsible for planning employee schedules, enforcing company policies and regulations, and ensuring timely and damage-free processing and delivery of customer freight. Coaching and developing employees, conducting evaluations, and making recommendations for hiring and termination are key aspects of the role. The supervisor will also participate in safety and engagement committees, train employees on safety, and monitor the work environment for safety and productivity. They will conduct daily staff meetings, inspect tools and equipment, and provide suggestions for operational improvements. Acting as a champion of XPO values and minimizing shipment rehandle are also important duties.
