Supervisor for Data & Quality
About The Position
The State of Maine Office of Behavioral Health is seeking an analytic professional who strives to use data to guide programming, decision-making, and service delivery to support the behavioral health needs of all who call Maine home. The Supervisor for Data and Quality will work closely with the Associate Director for Data and Quality to provide data management, data analysis, and data visualization, among other strategies to support the use of data and to inform the work performed by the Office of Behavioral Health. This position will oversee data related to Children’s Behavioral Health Services and the Crisis Services Continuum, along with other projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Eight (8) years of combined education, training, and experience in research, statistics, health planning, sociology, public administration, or management.
Nice To Haves
- High proficiency in Excel and Tableau is strongly desired.
- Familiarity with R, SQL, and other coding software is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with behavioral health services for children and their families highly desired.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Office of Behavioral Health (OBH) children's behavioral health data team & crisis data team in routine monitoring and evaluation of information and data systems to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance.
- Support and assist the OBH children's behavioral health data team & crisis data team in evaluating and reporting for a diverse array of programs.
- Utilize knowledge of data evaluation, data analysis, data visualization, and applicable laws and policies to ensure robust, accurate, and useful data that can be utilized and understood by a wide range of staff and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with program staff, grant managers, and other evaluators to monitor performance and achievement of grants and programs.
- Identify and amplify key findings relevant to OBH’s mission to support Maine people with mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders in living not only symptom-free, but with dignity, hope, and meaning.
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills are essential for supervising the data team and supporting the Associate Director.
