About the role: We are looking for a Field Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance crews and coordinate shift activities safely, efficiently, and in a cost‑effective manner at Kennecott Copper. Reporting to the Superintendent, Field Maintenance, and working a 4 days on / 4 days off / 4 nights rotating shift roster, you will lead and support maintenance trades to deliver planned maintenance, breakdown repair, and asset reliability outcomes across the operation. Working closely with production, planning, and maintenance stakeholders, you will ensure work is executed safely, within scope, and aligned to maintenance and asset management standards.

Requirements

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in maintenance or operations within an industrial electrical and mechanical environment
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience
  • Experience maintaining and supervising work on medium and high voltage electrical systems (4.16 kV and above)
  • Strong knowledge of safe electrical troubleshooting and preventative maintenance strategies
  • Ability to manage people, resolve on‑the‑job issues, and lead during breakdowns and shutdowns
  • Minimum high school diploma or GED; (electrical trade qualification strongly preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in mining or heavy industrial operations
  • Working knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office, including Excel

Responsibilities

  • Leading, coaching, and managing a team of maintenance tradespeople to deliver safe and reliable outcomes
  • Promoting and enforcing a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with site safety procedures, statutory requirements, and safe work practices
  • Supervising, coordinating, and monitoring execution of planned maintenance, shutdown activities, and unplanned breakdown work
  • Allocating resources and sequencing work based on priority, equipment availability and labor availability
  • Working closely with maintenance planners to ensure planned jobs are within scope and providing feedback on completed, deferred, or rescheduled work
  • Overseeing day‑to‑day maintenance activities and ensuring consistent application of maintenance and asset management processes
  • Applying asset management principles including lifecycle management, optimization, forecasting, and risk mitigation
  • Identifying, investigating, and resolving maintenance and operational issues to minimize downtime and improve reliability
  • Providing timely and accurate data entry into maintenance and reporting systems (e.g., work order history, employee time, and reports)
  • Communicating clearly and effectively with maintenance teams, operational leaders, and key stakeholders
  • Promoting continuous improvement by working with customers and team members to improve maintenance productivity, quality, and service
  • Ensuring high standards of quality and workmanship across all maintenance activities
