About The Position

The Floral Assembly Supervisor provides frontline leadership for fresh floral production and bouquet assembly at the Obetz facility, while also supporting general gift assembly operations as volume demands require. This role is responsible for overseeing floral processing, bouquet assembly, quality control, labor deployment, and schedule execution to ensure product freshness, design integrity, and service level attainment. The Floral Assembly Supervisor exercises independent judgment in workflow prioritization, staffing decisions, and quality control to protect customer experience and minimize waste in a highly perishable, fast-paced environment. Given the time-sensitive nature of fresh product, this leader plays a critical role in maintaining throughput velocity, shrink control, and compliance with food safety and handling standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of operational leadership experience
  • 3–5 years of experience in floral production, perishable goods, manufacturing, or high-volume assembly
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience managing seasonal workforce scaling
  • Strong understanding of perishable inventory management and shrink control
  • Proven ability to lead in time-sensitive, deadline-driven environments
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in staffing and workflow decisions
  • Flexibility to work extended hours during peak floral holidays (e.g., Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day)

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily floral assembly operations including bouquet production, hydration processes, staging, and packing
  • Ensure adherence to design specifications, brand standards, and quality expectations
  • Monitor freshness standards, rotation practices, and shrink controls
  • Allocate labor strategically to meet daily floral production forecasts
  • Coordinate inbound floral timing with Receiving to protect product integrity
  • Escalate quality risks, supply issues, or production delays proactively
  • Provide leadership support to broader gift assembly lines as needed
  • Adjust staffing dynamically between floral and general assembly based on demand
  • Partner with Fulfillment to ensure timely outbound shipment of floral product
  • Maintain alignment between floral production schedules and shipping deadlines
  • Drive productivity targets while minimizing waste and rework
  • Monitor scrap, shrink, and quality metrics to identify improvement opportunities
  • Support labor cost control through effective scheduling and workforce deployment
  • Lead real-time corrective action when production or quality metrics fall below standards
  • Supervise, coach, and develop floral and assembly associates
  • Conduct performance evaluations and manage corrective action processes
  • Lead onboarding and seasonal workforce ramp training
  • Foster a culture of accountability, craftsmanship, and teamwork
  • Partner with HR on retention strategies and employee relations matters
  • Enforce adherence to safety standards and safe floral handling procedures
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, food safety, and sanitation requirements
  • Maintain audit-ready production and storage areas
  • Promote safe lifting, ergonomic awareness, and injury prevention practices
