The Assembly Supervisor's role involves ensuring production objectives are met, driving continuous improvement, and fostering the development of their team members. The ideal candidate will have a product engineering background and be capable of focusing on multiple areas including quality, production, and vendor/customer relations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years leadership experience preferred.
  • Lean manufacturing experience such as 5S, Standard Work, Problem Solving and Value Stream Mapping, preferred.
  • Ability to work with ERP systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization, from production associates to senior leaders.
  • Ability to function as a team player and be comfortable leading without authority.
  • Ability to build credibility and trust.
  • Ability to influence leaders and change their paradigms.

Responsibilities

  • Directs the work of others across several operational areas to meet production needs.
  • Manages the product assembly process from start to finish.
  • Supervises overall production in collaboration with customer service, production control, and paint shop management.
  • Supervises product quality.
  • Designs and develops assembly operations for new production.
  • Improves existing processes for enhanced quality and efficiency.
  • Manages associates' time and attendance in accordance with company policies.
  • Attends production meetings to review order status, discuss issues/changes, report on project status, and note any required downtime or quality issues.
  • Reviews production forecasts and open order reports to assign work effectively.
  • Ensures team members continuously learn and cross-train to develop a flexible workforce.
  • Analyzes area performance results and drives continuous improvement to meet or exceed safety, productivity, quality, and uptime goals.
  • Performs daily 5S Audits to maintain a safe and optimal work environment.
  • Conducts associate performance reviews, identifies performance gaps, and creates development plans.
