About The Position

Based at Rocket Lab’s Albuquerque, New Mexico site, the Supervisor, Facilities oversees facilities maintenance, operations, and improvement projects. The role supports the Senior Manager, Ops Support with deliverables for internal leadership and uses internal and external resources to maintain and improve the site’s facilities and systems. The position supervises facilities and chemical-support staff, manages building systems and improvement projects, and helps ensure manufacturing environments remain within specifications. It also oversees chemical delivery and hazardous-waste handling, coordinates safety and emergency-response training, and serves on the site Emergency Response Team.

Requirements

High school diploma.
10+ years of experience in a facilities environment.
Ability to work in environments with electrical hazards, chemical exposure, temperature variations, and noise.
Wear assigned PPE, potentially including safety glasses, gloves, respirators, and other protective clothing, for extended periods.
Move between buildings, labs, and work areas as needed.
Lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment weighing up to 25 lbs. unassisted.
Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and varied shifts as operational needs require.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in a related subject area.
Thorough working knowledge of facilities systems and improvement projects.
5+ years supporting a facilities role as an individual contributor.
3+ years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

Supervise maintenance and operation of facilities equipment and systems using internal and external resources.
Develop maintenance policies and procedures to support the functioning of buildings, grounds, and associated equipment.
Develop and execute plans for building systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management.
Develop and execute facilities modification and improvement plans, managing scope, schedule, and budget.
Supervise and train employees in the general maintenance of buildings, grounds, and equipment.
Ensure maintenance work follows safety standards and specifications, and that work orders are tracked and completed within budget.
Work alongside subordinate staff in day-to-day work; ensure maintenance and project milestones and budgets are met and that fab and other environments remain in specification.
Supervise and manage the Chem Support team’s controlled delivery of chemicals to the factory to meet manufacturing needs.
Supervise and manage the Chem Support team’s handling of hazardous waste streams in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Supervise and manage Safety and ERT training for facilities and chemical-support technicians.
Serve on the site ERT team and support and respond to emergencies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
