About The Position

This role oversees day-to-day operations in a fast-paced maintenance environment with room to grow. The Supervisor of Facilities assists with maintaining various facility systems such as water, utilities, generators, lighting, security, and pest control. They provide work direction and supervision to facilities staff, coordinate operations, maintenance, repairs, and equipment installations in accordance with service goals and objectives. This position is responsible for the day-to-day management of all facilities departments.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree, Trade or Vo-Tech school required.
  • Area of focus in Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), building automation, plumbing or related field.
  • Five years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Experience providing excellent customer service in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Ability to work independently, balancing multiple tasks within deadlines.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local codes, specifications, and ordinances, as well as Sanford Health policies and procedures.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Maintain good driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years experience supervisory experience preferred.
  • May require certification/licensure as required by profession.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in managing all aspects of operation and maintenance of multiple and/or large physical facilities in a healthcare environment.
  • Provides support to operations management for maintenance, repair and improvement of physical systems and equipment, vendor relations, and cost control.
  • Provides work direction and supervision to facilities staff.
  • Coordinates operations, maintenance, repairs and equipment installations.
  • Responsible for day-to-day management of all facilities departments.
  • Perform installation and maintenance of mechanical and stationary systems, including boiler operations.
  • Maintain campus grounds and perform other outside maintenance duties.
  • Perform general duties such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and bed repair and maintenance.
  • Ensures tasks are carried out in a safe, professional manner employing all current acceptable practices.
  • Approves time off requests, and signs off on employee timecards.
  • Maintains schedule to ensure proper staffing at all times.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring and training new employees.
