About The Position

Supervises and coordinates the staff and daily operations of the Environmental Services Department, implementing established policies and procedures related to Environmental Sanitation. The supervisor leads and develops team members, organizes and monitors work, supports operational workflow, maintains adequate supplies, evaluates products and equipment, and provides safety instruction. The role also addresses the needs of special groups and individuals with hearing or physical challenges, as well as issues relating to the hospital and facility. Performs related duties as required.

Requirements

Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
4–6 years of relevant experience.
0–2 years of leadership or management experience.

Responsibilities

Promote Environmental Services department goals by selecting, motivating, and training capable team members.
Lead assigned Environmental Services team members by communicating and providing guidance toward department objectives.
Supervise, hire, train, discipline, and evaluate staff, and ensure performance appraisals are completed on time.
Prioritize, schedule, assign, and monitor work to optimize operational service.
Analyze, recommend, implement, and monitor approved workflow changes.
Receive special work assignments from management as needed.
Ensure an adequate inventory of supplies.
Oversee supply maintenance, review storage-area stock levels against established par levels, and request and pick up needed supplies weekly from the main storage area.
Evaluate and recommend related products and equipment.
Provide safety instruction concerning products, equipment, and Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) references.
Address the needs of special groups, people with hearing impairments or physical challenges, and various issues relating to the hospital and facility.
Perform related duties as required.
