About The Position

Reporting to the Manager, the Supervisor supervises over sixteen (16) Housekeeping Aides and Lead Hands, and is responsible for organizing staff, resources, and daily activities to meet established housekeeping standards. Orders, monitors and receives Environmental Services supplies, maintains related reports, monitors expenditures and prepares budget estimates, and acts as a liaison with other departments. Performs a variety of housekeeping duties, such as, but not limited to: damp dusting; dry and wet mopping of floors; floor maintenance and refinishing using appropriate equipment; cleaning & disinfecting ceiling, wall, vent, washroom, bed, furniture and equipment; regular and biomedical waste collection and removal; hazardous spill clean-up; bed-making; and maintaining the overall cleanliness of the facility according to organizational policies, procedures and routines.

Requirements

  • Grade 10, plus three (3) years’ recent, related experience, including six (6) months' supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Valid BC Driver’s License as local area travel may be required.
  • Ability to supervise.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
