About The Position

Mercy McMahon Terrace is located adjacent to Mercy General Hospital in the heart of East Sacramento. By providing quality care services through its assisted living program, along with the maintenance-free lifestyle available with independent living, residents at Mercy McMahon Terrace are free to focus their energy on living their life to the fullest. With nurses on staff for 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the care at Mercy McMahon Terrace goes beyond what many senior communities can provide. As our Supervisor, Dining Room, you will manage the daily operations of the dining area, ensuring a high standard of service and satisfaction for residents and guests. You will oversee team performance, maintain quality control, and ensure all dining protocols are followed. Every day, you will coordinate with staff to provide prompt and courteous service, handle any operational challenges, and promote a welcoming atmosphere. You will also monitor cleanliness, safety measures, and compliance with established guidelines. To be successful in this role, you will build on your leadership and communication skills, encouraging teamwork and attention to detail. By focusing on consistent service quality and guest satisfaction, you will help create an exceptional dining experience.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate General Studies or High School GED General Studies
  • Experience in hotel restaurants or senior living.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of the dining area, ensuring a high standard of service and satisfaction for residents and guests.
  • Oversee team performance, maintain quality control, and ensure all dining protocols are followed.
  • Coordinate with staff to provide prompt and courteous service, handle any operational challenges, and promote a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Monitor cleanliness, safety measures, and compliance with established guidelines.
  • Build on leadership and communication skills, encouraging teamwork and attention to detail.
  • Focus on consistent service quality and guest satisfaction to create an exceptional dining experience.
  • Hiring, training and supervision of dining room staff.
  • Manage payroll budget.
  • Order wine and linens.
  • Manage wine inventory.
  • Complete meal recaps and meal counts.
  • Track guest meals, tray charges, etc.
  • Complete daily census of residents (lunch and dinner).
  • Wait tables as needed.
  • Responsible for planning and organizing of special events to include but not limited to equipment rental, seating charts, buffet management, marketing.
  • Manage resident's special diet needs to assure safety compliance.
  • Assure adherence to appropriate sanitation practices and cleaning schedules.
