About The Position

This role involves supervising all customs-related activities within the assigned division/LOBs to ensure smooth daily customs operations and efficient clearance of all shipments. It requires ensuring compliance with company policies and customs regulations, and addressing any non-compliance cases. Depending on the division, the incumbent may also work with external vendors (2PL/3PL) and manage contingency workers. The Supervisor will implement functional strategies and support the (Senior) Manager, Customs Brokerage in managing team performance and capabilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 to 6 years of experience in customs brokerage or related field.
  • Excellent knowledge of customs regulations.
  • Excellent command of English language – both written and oral to liaise with external parties and preparing reports.
  • Experience in supervising a team.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all activities in the assigned division/LOBs.
  • Oversee customs clearance processes for local imports, exports and transits.
  • Monitor quality of daily activities (KPIs and SLAs); introduce interventions to address non-conformance.
  • Review and approve complex customs declarations and non-fiscal obligations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of customs paperwork and filings; including compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and manage relationships with key stakeholders - both internal and external.
  • Identify areas of improvement and provide recommendations; simplify and streamline to accelerate clearance and enhance efficiencies; execute approved changes.
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in company policies and local regulations; ensuring compliance.
  • Investigate and address non-compliance; follow up and ensure corrective actions are taken.
  • Prepare monthly reports for various stakeholders.
  • Analyze issues, identify patterns where possible, and give suggestions to resolve these challenges.
  • Verify vendor invoices received and ensure timely submission to Finance for payment processing.
  • Assist with both internal and external audits.
  • Plan work schedules and manage team's performance, identify training needs and motivate the team to achieve the department's objectives.
  • Conduct orientation to new hires and ensure all mandatory trainings are completed within stipulated timeframe.
  • Ensure the team meets training requirements and comply with local standards.
