Join our team! Help keep our campus clean and welcoming by supervising custodial staff, coordinating daily operations, training employees, inspecting facilities, and ensuring quality service and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree + 4 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree + 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge in the care and use of power equipment.
  • Ability to supervise two or more full-time employees.
  • Ability to make decisions regarding hiring, evaluation, promotion and termination of employees, or make related recommendations.
  • Ability to schedule work to meet normal requirements without interfering with residents or occupants of office space.
  • Ability to direct workers performing cleaning tasks.
  • Ability to develop and participate in a training program.
  • Ability to inspect buildings, rooms, storage space, hallways, fixtures and custodial equipment.
  • Ability to requisition appropriate materials and supplies.
  • Ability to prepare and submit appropriate reports and memoranda.
  • Ability to recommend budget, materials and equipment for the area.
  • Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements: i.e. extreme temp, toxic chemicals, biohazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, loud noises, other potentially dangerous materials/situations that require safety precaution/protective equip.
  • Considerable physical activity. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job.
  • Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the planning, organizing, and directing of routine maintenance operations.
  • Trains and supervises the custodial staff to maintain an orderly, safe, and efficient cleaning operation.
  • Requires knowledge in the care and use of power equipment.
  • Supervises two or more full-time employees.
  • Makes decisions regarding hiring, evaluation, promotion and termination of employees, or makes related recommendations.
  • Schedules work to meet normal requirement without interfering with residents or occupants of office space.
  • Directs workers performing cleaning tasks.
  • Develops and participates in a training program which familiarizes custodial staff with particular problems involved in custodial services including improved techniques.
  • Inspects buildings, rooms, storage space, hallways, fixtures and custodial equipment to observe the results of work.
  • Requisitions appropriate materials and supplies.
  • Prepares and submits appropriate reports and memoranda regarding custodial policies and procedures.
  • Recommends budget, materials and equipment for the area.
