About The Position

The Control Center Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and supporting all Security Control Center operations, including workflows, assigned functions, and team members. This role shares responsibility for monitoring and managing CCTV, alarm, fire, access control, and active threat systems, primarily during after-hours operations and, as needed, during regular business hours. The Supervisor ensures the efficient execution of daily and overnight Control Center activities in alignment with direction provided by the Head of Physical Operations & Security (PO&S). Responsibilities include ensuring the timely completion, accuracy, and submission of all required reports and operational documentation. This is a full-time, exempt, in-person position that requires regular attendance at the assigned work location and the ability to report on-site as operational needs dictate. Individuals in this position may not hold titles with another organization, work part time in a similar role, or engage in outside employment that conflicts with HVCU responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED) certificate, or state authorized high school equivalent certificate required
  • NYS Security Guard License required
  • Minimum 5 Years Security – NYSDOS required
  • Minimum 3 Years Supervisory experience required

Nice To Haves

  • Associate Degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Emergency Management, Public Safety, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • Other security-industry certifications relevant to physical security operations preferred
  • Prior experience as a law enforcement officer, military service member, military police officer, or security professional with formal academy or equivalent training preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and continuously enhance Control Center operations, procedures, and workflows while providing leadership and support to assigned PO&S team members.
  • Participate in the Control Center overnight coverage schedule and rotation to ensure appropriate staffing levels and operational continuity.
  • Support and participate in required drills, training exercises, maintenance activities, system testing, and equipment installations related to Physical Operations & Security (PO&S) functions.
  • Ensure all Control Center systems, technologies, and associated equipment remain current through routine firmware updates, software upgrades, testing, and maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate with PO&S leadership to assess and address physical security needs across HVCU facilities, operations, and business functions.
  • Provide security support for organizational functions, special events, and activities when deemed necessary by the Head of PO&S.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records, including maintenance logs, vendor activity logs, weather-related incident documentation, and after-hours operational reports.
  • Assist with the oversight and management of vendors, contractors, and service providers supporting Control Center operations, systems, and equipment, as directed.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and recommend improvements to Control Center processes, technology, and reporting practices to enhance operational effectiveness and security readiness.
  • Ensures compliance with departmental policies, regulatory requirements, security protocols, and confidentiality standards, including the handling of sensitive information and internal communications.
  • Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained knowledge. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
