About The Position

The Supervisor (Construction Inspection) oversees Construction Inspectors and helps manage Construction Inspection for GTC capital projects. The role provides leadership and direct field supervision for Construction Inspectors, along with administrative support for Construction Inspection Department Management. Responsibilities include day-to-day resource planning for active construction, conducting performance evaluations, making compensation recommendations, resolving conflicts with Associates, and supporting individual training and professional development for Construction Inspectors. The Supervisor also serves as a construction subject matter expert for capital project team members, contributing to scope development and project coordination. Travel is approximately 85%, and a GTC-owned vehicle will be assigned to the position. There are two openings: Substation (Statewide) or Transmission Line (Statewide).

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
• At least 10 years of experience in electric utility construction involving transmission-level voltages, with increasing responsibilities and a history of strong leadership skills; substation or transmission line construction is preferred.
• Alternatively, at least 15 years of experience in substation or transmission line construction involving transmission-level voltages, with increasing responsibilities and a history of strong leadership skills.
• Valid Georgia Driver's License.
• ITS Substation Access and transmission line ROW access.
• CPR/Standard First Aid Certification.
• OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Training.
• Defensive Driving 6-Hour Class.
• NPDES Level 1A Qualified Person Training.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to develop relationships and manage multiple tasks and assignments.
• Knowledge of contracting and construction management practices, including inspection, quality control, OSHA safety requirements, and project control measures.
• Must pass a NERC CIP personnel risk assessment screening.

• Experience in substation or transmission line construction is preferred.
