About The Position
Vitalant is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor to provide skilled technical oversight in the laboratory in support of its life-saving mission. The position coordinates the testing of biological specimens and reviews testing results and quality assessment data. The supervisor leads laboratory personnel and ensures quality, accurate documentation, equipment readiness, and adequate supplies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Must satisfy CLIA requirements for High Complexity Testing.
- Three years of clinical laboratory testing experience, including one year of transfusion or blood banking experience.
Nice To Haves
- Two years of supervisor experience.
- Two years of reference lab experience.
Responsibilities
- Hire, supervise, train, and assess the performance of laboratory staff and personnel.
- Ensure thorough completion of reagent preparation, pre-qualification, and quality assurance.
- Conduct competency observations and ensure meticulous and accurate documentation.
- Perform preventive maintenance, quality assurance, calibrations, and equipment-related work.
- Identify malfunctions in high-complexity equipment and troubleshoot as necessary.
- Ensure adequate supplies and reagents are maintained.
- Participate in discussions related to process improvement and budgeting.
- Coordinate biological specimen testing and review testing results and quality assessment data.
