About The Position

Frontier Behavioral Health (FBH) is a non-profit organization with over 100 years of experience serving the Spokane community. We provide evidence-based treatment to adults, youth, and seniors facing various behavioral health challenges. FBH offers a variety of client services, including outpatient, inpatient, community outreach, crisis services, and partnerships with schools and law enforcement. Our services are evidence-based, culturally appropriate, and trauma-informed, addressing the diverse needs of those we serve. This position works a Monday-Friday 2PM-10:30PM shift, which is eligible for a shift differential. The Child, Youth, and Family Mobile Crisis Response (CYFMCR) program serves children and youth aged 0-20 and their families, providing 24/7 crisis intervention and support to keep at-risk youth in their community. Referrals are prioritized from hospitals, law enforcement, fire departments, co-responder teams, high utilizers, the juvenile justice system, shelters, family members, and self-referrals. The Supervisor of Mobile Rapid Response Crisis Teams (MRRCT) directly supervises assigned staff, participates in program planning and evaluation, and trains staff to ensure program goals are met. The supervisor also provides consultation to other FBH staff and the community, supporting mobile crisis response operations for youth, adults, and families in behavioral health crisis. Services include rapid response, assessment, crisis intervention, supportive counseling, linkage to resources, and follow-up treatment. Services are primarily provided in the community, with potential for engagement at inpatient facilities.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in the behavioral sciences
  • Two years' post master's degree experience in crisis intervention and the direct provision of mental health treatment services.
  • At the time of hire, must meet the requirements of a Mental Health Professional as defined by WAC 246-341-0200 by having applied for one of the following DOH credentials: Licensed Agency Affiliated Counselor (LAAC) OR License Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA) OR Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker Associate (LICSWA) OR Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA).
  • DOH credential must be active within 6 months of hire date unless currently meeting preferred licensure credential requirement.
  • Must have an unrestricted and valid driver’s license, active car insurance, and must be willing to use their personal vehicle in the course of work.

Nice To Haves

  • Active DOH licensure (e.g., LMHC, LICSW, LMFT) in the State of Washington (Licensed employees have the title Supervisor II)
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Washington State designation as a Child Mental Health Specialist.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure mobile crisis response members provide services in the community, including the creation or development of recovery plans and ongoing support.
  • Provide individual services in a range of settings.
  • Offer crisis and hospital diversion services to high-risk individuals and families.
  • Conduct initial and follow-up phone and face-to-face assessments for high-risk clients to ensure stabilization and service acquisition.
  • Complete suicide and homicide risk assessments and determine if health and safety needs are compromised to establish the necessary level of response.
  • Develop safety plans to support individuals in crisis.
  • Provide referral services to individuals in crisis and third-party referral sources for community stabilization, including linkage to a Designated Crisis Responder (DCR).
  • Assist non-Medicaid individuals in accessing Medicaid.
  • Ensure follow-up services are appropriate, time-limited, and aligned with the client's changing needs, utilizing client strengths and participation in care navigation.
  • Facilitate the use of and access to crisis hospital diversion resources, including Stabilization and/or E&T admission.
  • Maintain and provide required data as specified in the SCRBH-ASO Crisis Response Services Provider Guide.
  • Obtain necessary training for team members to enhance client engagement skills and promote less restrictive alternatives to inpatient psychiatric admissions.
  • Provide weekly supervision to each assigned mobile crisis response member.
  • Cover shifts as needed.
  • Participate in quality improvement projects to assist the team in diverting inpatient admissions.
  • Represent the agency in a positive and professional manner.
  • Maintain and enhance customer service for positive experiences with internal and external customers.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with FBH staff.
  • Maintain working relationships with the courts, attorneys, private psychiatrists, police and sheriff's deputies, jail staff, clinical and administrative staff at inpatient psychiatric facilities, staff of other agencies, advocate and consumer groups, and citizens.
  • Comply with all state WAC requirements and FBH policies and procedures.
  • Maintain client records and all other required documentation in a timely and confidential manner.
  • Participate in peer review, supervision, educational, and administrative meetings as directed.
  • Travel to see clients in the community and between work sites.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
