About The Position

Frontier Behavioral Health (FBH) is seeking a Supervisor for their Children, Youth & Family Mobile Crisis Response program. This non-profit organization has a long-standing presence in Spokane, dedicated to providing evidence-based treatment for behavioral health issues across all age groups. As a Trauma-Informed Care Organization, FBH emphasizes recovery and empowering clients to lead fulfilling lives. The Child, Youth, and Family Mobile Crisis Response (CYFMCR) team serves children and youth aged 0-20 and their families, offering 24/7 support to resolve behavioral health crises within the community. The program prioritizes referrals from hospitals, law enforcement, fire departments, co-responder teams, high utilizers, the juvenile justice system, shelters, family members, and self-referrals. The Supervisor will provide direct supervision to staff, participate in program planning and evaluation, train and supervise staff to ensure program goals are met, and offer consultation to other FBH staff and the community. The role supports mobile crisis response operations, including crisis intervention and evaluation services for youth, adults, and families. Mobile crisis response services encompass rapid response, assessment, intervention, supportive counseling, and linkage to resources and ongoing treatment. Services are primarily delivered in the community, with potential for engagement at inpatient facilities.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in the behavioral sciences
  • Two years’ post master’s degree experience in crisis intervention and the direct provision of mental health treatment services.
  • At the time of hire, must meet the requirements of a Mental Health Professional as defined by WAC 246-341-0200 by having applied for one of the following DOH credentials: Licensed Agency Affiliated Counselor (LAAC) OR License Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA) OR Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker Associate (LICSWA) OR Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA) AND THEN Credential must be active with DOH within 6 months of hire date unless currently meeting preferred licensure credential requirement below.
  • Must have an unrestricted and valid driver’s license, active car insurance and must be willing to use their personal vehicle in the course of work.

Nice To Haves

  • Active DOH licensure (e.g., LMHC, LICSW, LMFT) in the State of Washington (Licensed employees have the title Supervisor II)
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Washington State designation as a Child Mental Health Specialist is position is in the Child, Youth, and Family mobile crisis response program.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the creation or further development of recovery plans and ongoing support to promote care plan goals and objectives.
  • Provide individual services in a range of settings.
  • Provide crisis and hospital diversion services to individuals and families at high risk.
  • Provide initial and follow-up phone and face-to-face assessments for clients who are at high risk to ensure stabilization and/or services were obtained.
  • Complete suicide and homicide risk assessments as well as determine if the individual’s health and safety needs are compromised to determine a level of response needed to maintain the safety of the client or others.
  • Develop viable safety plans to support the individual in crisis.
  • Provide referral services to individuals in crisis requesting assistance or 3rd party referral sources to provide community stabilization services to the identified individual in crisis, including linkage to a Designated Crisis Responder (DCR).
  • Assist non-Medicaid individuals to access Medicaid as appropriate.
  • Ensure follow-up services are appropriate, time limited, and align with the changing needs of the client while utilizing client’s strengths and ability to participate in navigating their care.
  • Facilitate use of/access to crisis hospital diversion resources, including Stabilization and/or E&T admission.
  • Maintain and provide required data as specified in the SCRBH-ASO Crisis Response Services Provider Guide.
  • Obtain necessary training for team members to increase their skills for engaging clients so less restrictive alternatives to inpatient psychiatric admissions can be utilized.
  • Provide weekly supervision to each assigned mobile crisis response member.
  • Cover shifts as needed.
  • Be involved in quality improvement projects to assist the team in being successful at diverting inpatient admissions.
  • Represent the agency in a positive and professional manner.
  • Maintain and enhance customer service to ensure that both external and internal customers of FBH have a positive experience, as well as establish and maintain a collaborative relationship with FBH staff.
  • Maintain working relationships with the courts, attorneys, private psychiatrists, police and sheriff's deputies, jail staff, clinical and administrative persons at inpatient psychiatric facilities throughout the state, staff of other agencies, advocate and consumer groups and citizens.
  • Comply with all state WAC requirements and FBH policies and procedures.
  • Maintain client records and all other required documentation in a timely and confidential manner, in accordance with agency policies and practices.
  • Participate in peer review, supervision, educational and administrative meetings as directed.
  • Requires travel to see clients in the community and travel between work sites.
  • Other duties as assigned.
