Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Five years of operational experience, including supervisory or lead experience.
  • Candidates may be required to pass a medical exam.
  • Candidates must pass all required training and/or testing.
  • Employees may be required to work a non-standard schedule, which may include shift work (other than day shift) at a 24/7, 365-day operation.
  • Freeport-McMoRan promotes a drug/alcohol-free work environment using mandatory pre-employment drug testing and on-going drug and alcohol testing, as allowed by applicable laws.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise bus drivers and daily transportation operations to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable service.
  • Assign, supervise, and review the work of bus driver staff and conduct performance evaluations on subordinate staff.
  • Contribute to the safe and efficient operation of bus services at the operating location by monitoring bus driver performance, verifying staff fitness for duty, monitoring schedules, recommending changes or adjustments, and conducting lineout discussions, while monitoring the needs of subordinate employees and ensuring resources and direction are provided, maintained, and effective for consistent and safe transport of employees and contractors.
  • Implement daily transportation plans aligned with established routes, schedules, and approved site requirements.
  • Monitor workforce needs to ensure adequate staffing coverage, scheduling, and equipment requirements.
  • Oversee usage and availability of buses and related equipment.
  • Review time and operational reports.
  • Coordinate with maintenance for vehicle readiness and repairs.
  • Ensure drivers are appropriately trained on safety procedures, defensive driving practices, and site-specific operating rules in collaboration with the training department.
  • Inspect and evaluate bus operations and driver performance.
  • Identify safety, service, or operational issues.
  • Direct corrective actions when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
