About The Position

Works under general supervision of an assigned supervisor to supervise and coordinate the activities of a group of employees at the Sheriff’s Office. This role involves training personnel, ensuring adequate staffing, reviewing reports, maintaining office equipment and supplies, receiving court subpoenas, providing court testimony, monitoring changes in laws and procedures, acting as a liaison, assisting with interviews, and performing other related duties.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years’ experience in a supervisory capacity
  • Bachelor’s degree from and accredited college or university in public or business administration, management, criminal justice; or related field.
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
  • Must be available for on-call, night and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Trains clerical and technical personnel by the use of training manuals and on-the-job training.
  • Ensures adequate personnel are available for daily operations and coordinates the work activities for clerical personnel, microfilm technicians, and Administrative Technicians.
  • Reviews and maintains employee time reports, leave requests, weekly production reports and personnel records.
  • Prepares and reviews employee performance evaluations; accurate production data culminating in the preparation of annual reports; provides information required to complete budget requests and submit all reports in a timely manner.
  • Monitors and maintains routine office equipment and supplies.
  • Receives court subpoenas and provides court testimony for Federal, Juvenile, General Sessions and Criminal Courts, and other law enforcement agencies.
  • Monitors and advises personnel of any changes in laws, policy and/or procedures affecting the section.
  • Acts as liaison between the courts, jail supervisors, and law enforcement agencies.
  • Assists in conducting interviews with prospective applicants and submit recommendations to Manager.
  • Performs other related duties as required or directed.
