Supervisor A - Social Worker (Health Services)

About The Position

This position is funded by a grant for a duration of time as defined by the grantor. Provides direction and supervision to assigned staff in applying social work theory and ethical standards within the practice setting. Oversees staff development and training needs and ensures ethical issues are appropriately assessed, addressed, and resolved.

Requirements

Three (3) years of experience in professional social work, of which one (1) year must have been in a responsible supervisory or managerial capacity; AND
Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of social work approved by the National Council on Social Work Education; AND
Current State of Tennessee Social Worker licensure is required.
PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.
Must possess a valid Tennessee driver's license or secure one by date of employment.
Must have access to an operable automobile and meet the County requirements for automobile insurance upon date of employment.
May be required to travel to other Shelby County offices.
Must maintain all required licenses, certifications, and training credentials throughout the duration of employment.

Experience working with Infectious Diseases is preferred.

Responsibilities

Plans, organizes, supervises, and evaluates the work of assigned social workers and support staff.
Provides leadership, consultation, and guidance on complex case issues, including the development and implementation of case plans.
Assesses employee development needs and provides training and coaching in casework techniques, practices, and professional standards.
Interprets, applies, and ensures compliance with applicable regulations, departmental policies, and procedures.
Coordinates and integrates staff activities to promote efficient, effective service delivery.
Collaborates with clinical and administrative staff to maintain accurate patient databases and ensure compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality requirements.
Plans, schedules, and facilitates individual and group meetings; prepares and presents clear written, statistical, and oral reports.
Collaborates with healthcare providers, community organizations, and other professionals to ensure a continuum of care for clients.
Provides education on prevention, treatment, health maintenance, and stigma reduction.
Performs other related duties as required or directed.
