About The Position

Equip is seeking a board-certified MD or DO in Family Medicine, or a dual board-certified MD/DO in Internal Medicine-Pediatrics (Med-Peds) for a Direct Patient Care + Clinical Leadership role on its rapidly growing clinical care team caring for patients ages 6-99 years with eating disorders in a 100% virtual Telehealth platform. Physicians are essential members of Equip's multidisciplinary virtual treatment team, working alongside a therapist, dietitian, peer mentor, and family mentor to help children, adolescents, and adults recover from eating disorders. This is a remote, full time, salaried position with flexible hours and priority for afternoon and early evening hours in your time zone.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree with board certification in family medicine or dual certified in internal medicine and pediatrics.
  • Must be able to see patients across the lifespan.
  • Active, unrestricted medical license in one or more states, with willingness to obtain additional licenses as needed (Equip supports licensing costs).
  • 3+ years of clinical practice; experience supervising or collaborating closely with advanced practice providers preferred.
  • Proven ability to excel in high-acuity, high-volume clinical environments with experience in telehealth or virtual care delivery strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with a track history of collaboration with diverse teams and external providers.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing clinical and organizational priorities, demonstrating strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Clinical maturity to navigate complex cases while maintaining therapeutic relationships and providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
  • Comfortable with startup pace and change.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in eating disorder medical management and evidence-based practices, including monitoring medical stability and coordinating care, preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive medical assessments and evidence-based treatment for co-occurring medical conditions due to an eating disorder while supporting families throughout the recovery process.
  • Monitor vital signs, labs, and other medical data to ensure medical stability. Physicians work with our medical assistants and nurses to assist with obtaining medical records and vital signs, ordering labs and medications and facilitating care collaboration with outside providers.
  • Collaborate on a multidisciplinary treatment team with medical providers, therapists, dietitians, peer mentors, and family mentors to provide medical guidelines and treatment.
  • Communicate via electronic medical record messaging to support patients and supports, and to communicate with the treatment team.
  • Communicate and collaborate with outside providers.
  • Document effectively and in a timely manner within Equip electronic medical record in accordance with Equip’s policies and procedures.
  • Participate in Treatment Team meetings, supervision, continuing education and department meetings.
  • Provide clinical leadership and supervision to nursing staff and advanced practice providers while collaborating with physician colleagues to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Ability and willingness to pursue licensure in all 50 states (we cover all costs).
