About The Position

Equip is a leading virtual, evidence-based eating disorder treatment program dedicated to ensuring access to effective treatment for everyone. Founded in 2019, Equip operates as a fully virtual company and is recognized for its strong outcomes and innovative treatment approach. The Registered Dietitian will manage all nutrition-related aspects of care, collaborating with family members to restore nutritional health in children undergoing eating disorder treatment. Care is delivered remotely via a telehealth platform, with the Registered Dietitian working as part of a collaborative, evidence-based treatment team.

Requirements

Active state license in New York.
Minimum of a bachelor's degree or college coursework accredited or approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).
Licensed RDN required.
Strong skills in communication and collaboration with diverse teams.
Experience working on interdisciplinary teams.
Organized and results-driven.
Ability to understand and balance business needs and clinical priorities.
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, subject to rapid change and innovation.
Ability to provide 30 hours a week of availability for direct patient care, including new patients and follow-up sessions.
Ability to commit to a minimum of 16 hours of direct patient care after 2 pm in your working time zone throughout the week.
Ability to commit to working until 8pm two evenings per week.
Ability to attend mandatory meetings (e.g., Group Supervision, Treatment Huddles, Labs/All Hands, Individual Supervision).

Nice To Haves

Eating disorder experience preferred.
Some exposure/experience to family-based eating disorder treatment approaches preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist patients and families in transforming maladaptive eating patterns into a healthy relationship with food through ongoing support.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, including initial nutrition assessments, meal plan prescriptions, and target weight range assessments via telehealth.
Guide patients through exposure to fear/challenge foods.
Clearly communicate patient meal plans and nutrition-related concerns to the treatment team and provide education to alleviate concerns.
Maintain a united front with the treatment team in interactions with families.
Assist with discharge planning.
Update treatment plans weekly with patient progress, goals, and nutrition-related assignments or concerns.
Continuously reassess nutritional needs and communicate recommendations to the treatment team and families.
Deliver evidence-based nutrition education to challenge irrational thoughts and beliefs about food, nutrition, weight, and shape that contribute to eating disorder behaviors.
Establish therapeutic relationships with families, including rapport building, appropriate boundary setting, and a working alliance toward treatment goals.
Maintain thorough documentation in Equip’s electronic medical record.
Perform other duties as assigned.
