The State of Connecticut, Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP), Bureau of Materials Management and Assurance’s Waste Engineering and Enforcement Division has an exciting opportunity for a Supervising Environmental Analyst in the Solid and Hazardous Waste Permitting Group. This role manages staff by assigning and reviewing work, providing technical guidance, and supporting professional development. The supervisor serves as a key regulatory and technical resource, coordinates with EPA and other stakeholders, communicates with municipalities, industry, and the public, and helps resolve complex permitting and compliance issues. They also lead policy and procedure development, ensure consistency and quality in permitting decisions, collaborate with enforcement programs, and manage program priorities, workload, and performance to support effective and efficient operations. In the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection this class is accountable for supervising a section engaged in environmental analyses and evaluations and coordinating intra- and inter-agency efforts in state and regional planning and policy development projects. In other state agencies this class is accountable for supervising a section engaged in environmental analyses and evaluations.
