About The Position

Parsons Corporation, a leader in integrated design and delivery of critical infrastructure for over 80 years, is seeking an experienced Supervising Engineer for its New Jersey team. This role involves managing projects and mentoring engineers and designers on both conventional and design-build projects. The company is undertaking significant projects in New Jersey, including the Newark Bay Bridge, Newark AirTrain, and the Gateway Tunnel, and is looking to expand its presence to execute these and other NJDOT projects. The positions are hybrid, requiring 2-3 days per week in the Newark, NJ office, with fully remote options considered for the right candidate. This role is part of the Critical Infrastructure team, focusing on projects that connect and protect communities, improve quality of life, and promote economic growth, mobility, sustainability, and resiliency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or related field) with 12+ years of related work experience.
  • Experience with NJDOT and NJTA
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration.
  • Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering.
  • Exceptional communication, analytical, and management skills.
  • Versatile and enthusiastic, with the ability to work in a highly flexible, team-oriented environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with NYSDOT, PANYNJ, and NYCDOT
  • Experience with Bentley Open Roads and Autodesk Civil 3D

Responsibilities

  • Perform highway, interchange, and street design, including geometric design, 3D modeling, drainage design, work zone traffic control, and construction staging.
  • Perform complex and significant engineering tasks efficiently and accurately.
  • Extract engineering information from CAD drawings and prepare engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
  • Complete a variety of assignments, including drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes.
  • Interface frequently with other engineering disciplines and departments.
  • Prepare detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
  • Review supplier drawing submittments and perform technical bid analyses.
  • Prepare and issue specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
  • Provide technical guidance to CAD Designers/Drafters, Designers, and junior Engineers working on the same project.
  • Provide the seal and signature of the professional engineer, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances.
  • Act in an advisory capacity to senior management on engineering-related matters.
