About The Position

OPTEL is currently seeking a Design Supervisor. The main mandate of the position holder is to coordinate the tasks of a multidisciplinary design team (solution, mechanical, electrical, and software configuration) to ensure the delivery of client projects while respecting quality, deadlines, and costs. They are also responsible for managing their team's performance and providing support in human resources management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical college diploma in a relevant field with equivalent experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience as a team supervisor and/or design manager.
  • Work experience in mechanical, electrical, or software design.
  • Strong planning, organization, and communication skills.
  • Strong leadership, teamwork, and mobilizing spirit.
  • Good business judgment and excellent sense of priorities.
  • Developed analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Align, coach, and support the design team through various delivery processes.
  • Ensure the team meets quality, deadline, and cost objectives.
  • Identify technical problems to guide teams toward a solution aligned with the needs of our external and internal clients.
  • Involve and synchronize different company departments when the realization of a client solution requires it.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and work with the necessary teams to advance them.
  • Promote the sharing of best practices between teams to maximize the use of existing knowledge and procedures.
  • Take charge of scrums and ensure their effectiveness.
  • Act as a mobilizing agent.
  • Effectively and systematically report on the team's results achievement.
  • Participate in the recruitment process for resources for the cell.
  • Conduct individual performance evaluations and, when necessary, formulate a performance management plan based on clear objectives.
  • Promote a healthy work environment focused on teamwork.
  • Ensure decisions made are consistent with the principles of social responsibility.
  • Respect the principles of sustainable development and current laws, relationships and working conditions, as well as their environmental impact and local development.
