About The Position

The primary company representative on the project site responsible for the overall quality, schedule, and successful completion of project(s); master of overall construction knowledge; engages and participates in activities related to project safety, project start-up, production, subcontractor procurement, project cost projections, and schedule requirements to ensure projects are completed in a quality, timely and profitable manner. Maintains a focus on meeting and exceeding customer needs and expectations. Builds relationships with current customers by delivering on commitments.

Requirements

  • Must be willing and able to travel to work sites, which are in different locations around our division.
  • Be willing to work overtime, nights, and weekends when necessary.
  • Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures. Responsible for reporting to management/safety personnel or stopping work if needed due to any issue or activity, etc. that could result in an injury or death to yourself, another employee, sub-contractor or other at/on any Gallant property, office, or job site. Responsible for stopping work and notifying onsite management and safety management if you spot an issue that could be life threatening.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA.
  • Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co–workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Must have/maintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving record with a Motor Vehicle Record that meets company standards.
  • Demonstrates leadership skills with ability and willingness to face challenges, independently solve problems, ability to manage multiple teams and motivate others, while maintaining effective relationships with customers by meeting or exceeding their requirements and expectations.
  • Supervise and manage multiple projects, including service projects, while prioritizing and coordinating multiple subcontractors at all stages of the construction project(s).
  • Demonstrates understanding of Commercial Construction and understanding of cross-divisional coordination to achieve complex details.
  • Exemplifies essential functions by consistently driving for quality, profitable, safe, and timely results on the assigned project(s) and providing leadership by example.
  • Demonstrates solid communication skills and verbal/written skills.
  • Demonstrates proficiency using a personal computer (PC) and company communication tools, such as email, internet, and Microsoft products (e.g., Word, Excel, Office, Project).
  • Demonstrates excellence with Contract Document Management Systems (Plan Grid), Blue Beam.

Nice To Haves

  • B.S. in Construction Management/Science, Engineering or related field with 2 years of industry experience in related industry preferred; or 3-4 years of industry experience. Depending upon the project size, scope, and complexity the years of experience may vary.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the project budget including subcontracts, allowances, contingencies, and General Conditions for delivering the project.
  • Know and understand the requirements of owner’s contract, including insurances, fees, notifications, schedules, reporting, and costs.
  • Know and understand each subcontractor’s scope of work and requirements by contract. Maintain control of field work tickets and clearly communicate with Project Manager regarding additional scope request required for completion of project.
  • Collaborate with Gallant Project Manager, subcontractors, and suppliers to create a project schedule inclusive of all major activities, deliverables, milestones, and completion activities.
  • Participate in team organization, roles & responsibility review at the start of each project and understand the resources needed for the project (e.g., people, systems, tools, internal and external services).
  • Participate in internal and external project Kickoff meetings.
  • Review the contract documents with all project participants (e.g., Client, owner vendors, subcontractors, suppliers, government regulators, utilities) to ensure work is completed to meet the project timeline and budget.
  • Participate in the project submittal & shop drawing review process and demonstrate an excellent understanding of general constructability concepts and coordination of multiple discipline assemblies/details.
  • Coordinate and deliver all requirements for subcontractors and vendors to meet project schedules on large-scale and/or complex projects.
  • Manage project(s) activities and daily operations in a clean and safe working environment.
  • Responsible for FULL TIME job site presence and supervision of all work activities and maintains the overall project schedule, milestone dates, and schedule impact items. Reviews with project staff each week and has ownership of field responsibilities, execution, and follow-up plans.
  • Actively participate in weekly Owner/Architect meetings with updated project information (e.g., Three-week Lookahead Schedules, RFI, Submittal, Quality, CO Logs…)
  • Generate Request for Information (RFIs) with proper Document reference/validation, documented field conditions, proposed resolution, and potential impacts.
  • Establish relationships and communication tools as needed with subcontractors and other key people to verify all project milestones are delivered when necessary. Ensure that all understand performance standards, quality and expectations.
  • Ensure that project site and team are secure and always maintain a safe and respectful working environment by implementing programs for safety (jobsite safety review ms/audits), risk management, training, and quality control.
  • Conduct on-site Daily/Weekly coordination meetings with subcontractor foreman to review all upcoming work activities, quality and project manpower needs to accomplish all planned activities.
  • Lead all field coordination efforts related to building/property management, material deliveries, utility shutdowns, afterhours work activities and inspections.
  • Manage and teach Assistant Superintendent/Field Engineer on the project site.
  • Provide oversight and management of Project Closeout Documentation ensuring compliance with project requirements and timely delivery (Record drawings, TAB, Final Inspections, Certificate of Occupancy).
  • Build effective relationships with customers, design teams, subcontractors, vendors, and user groups that reflect and support company core values and meets or exceeds the customer’s expectations.
  • Actively participate in industry, client, and community relations to enhance company image.
  • Promote our vision and purpose through service to our clients.
  • Serve as a role model and promote professional behavior and leadership in Safety.
  • Facilitate Training Courses and participate in operation’s training/mentoring programs and commit to the development of company personnel and of self.
