About The Position

As the Superintendent, Processing Plant Construction, you will support and manage construction activities of skilled, technical, and professional staff engaged in the construction of process facilities, a tailing filtration plant, and a paste backfill plant. This role will support the construction and successful commissioning of the Taylor Concentrator. Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: Lead and oversee all concentrator construction activities, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project objectives, schedules, and budgets. Manage construction contractors and field teams, driving performance, productivity, accountability, and adherence to South32 standards and expectations. Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, community, quality, and regulatory requirements, promoting a strong culture of safety and operational excellence. Coordinate construction execution with engineering, project controls, site services, procurement, and other stakeholders to support successful project delivery and resolve issues proactively. Monitor and control project schedules, costs, risks, and change management processes, implementing recovery plans and corrective actions as needed to maintain project performance. Champion digital project delivery, continuous improvement, and workforce development, leveraging technology, supporting quality initiatives, and providing leadership, coaching, and performance management for direct reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, trade qualifications, and experience.
• 7-10 years of experience leading large-scale mining construction projects, including concentrator or processing plant facilities.
• Demonstrated success managing contractors, union and non-union craft labor, project logistics, and vendor contracts.
• Strong knowledge of construction management, project controls, budgeting, scheduling, quality assurance, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
• Proven commitment to safety leadership, environmental stewardship, and fostering a high-performance safety culture.
• Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder engagement, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively in diverse and cross-cultural environments.
