RSCS is now hiring an experienced Superintendent / Foreman to lead our traveling Refrigeration Construction and Pipe Crew. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for managing refrigeration construction projects from start through execution. The Superintendent / Foreman will help maintain project momentum, keep crews aligned with deadlines, and work alongside the team when needed to keep projects moving forward. The ideal candidate will be dependable, organized, safety-focused, mechanically skilled, and comfortable adapting in the field as project needs change.

Requirements

  • Proven field leadership experience in the mechanical contracting, refrigeration, or industrial construction industry.
  • 5–10 years of leadership experience in the mechanical contracting industry.
  • Pipe welding experience with carbon steel and stainless steel.
  • Experience with small bore to large bore pipe sizes.
  • 6G welding position experience.
  • Stick and TIG welding process experience.
  • Pipe fitting and layout skills.
  • Rigging experience.
  • Ability to read plans and understand mechanical systems.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Clean driving record and valid driver’s license.
  • Dependable, hands-on, self-motivated, and detail-oriented work style.
  • Ability and willingness to travel, including travel up to one month at a time.
  • Ability to travel on short notice.

Nice To Haves

  • Refrigeration and ammonia system experience preferred.
  • Industrial refrigeration experience.
  • Ammonia refrigeration system experience.
  • Experience leading traveling crews.
  • Experience working in food processing, cold storage, warehouse, or industrial mechanical environments.
  • Strong understanding of refrigeration construction workflow, safety expectations, and project timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support traveling refrigeration construction and pipe crews on commercial and industrial job sites.
  • Manage project execution from beginning stages through completion.
  • Maintain project momentum and help ensure deadlines are met.
  • Work hands-on with the crew as needed to support progress and productivity.
  • Read and interpret plans, drawings, and project specifications.
  • Assist with pipe fitting, layout, rigging, welding coordination, and mechanical system installation.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, crew members, customers, and other trades.
  • Promote safe work practices and ensure job-site safety expectations are followed.
  • Adapt to project changes, field conditions, and customer needs as required.
  • Maintain organization, accountability, and professionalism on the job site.
